Date of Surgery: 6/6/2017
Knee
Update (2/2018): Lawrence has returned to ski instructing.

About Lawrence

Originally from London, England, I grew up participating in a wide range of sports, from an early age. From football and Athletics, to the more adrenaline-fueled water and snow sports. Since starting in the snow sports industry, I have been lucky enough to travel around the world, doing what I enjoy the most.

Career Background

As an inner city schoolchild, I was one of 10 students selected for a full scholarship, to train through the B.A.S.I. instructors pathway. During my early teaching years, I spent the majority of my time working in the Italian alps, learning my trade. More recently, I have based myself out of Queenstown, New Zealand and Hokkaido, Japan. This has allowed me to further my qualifications, through the N.Z.S.I.A., S.A.J. and B.A.S.I. governing systems. The dream is to continue this personal development, and see how far it takes me.

Treatment Procedure and Recovery Plan

I underwent a procedure, to repair damage to the lateral collateral ligament, and meniscus, in the left knee. The physiotherapy has been very intense since the surgery, but I feel that I am over the difficult period now. I am looking to get back on skis by the end of the season, barring any complications.

"The level of generosity, that the Kees Brenninkmeyer Foundation have demonstrated, for myself and so many others, is truly outstanding."
